What is The IGTGolf Tour?
- International Golf Tournaments (IGTGolf) is a membership based Tournament Golf Tour Internationally for core and avid golfers with a golf handicap. IGTGolf markets a member base golf concept in Europe, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Africa, which allow golfers with a golf handicap to play for substantial prize money in local, regional, national and international tournaments culminating with a PGA-style event and world championship.
- You join as a Member and that allows you to play as many or few events as you wish.
Why was The IGTGolf Tour established?
- The IGTGolf Tour was established to offer professionally organized golf tournaments to its members in a handicap format utilizing The IGTGolf Tour customized handicap system. The IGTGolf Tour established this program to allow golfers the opportunity to compete with each other on an equal basis for large prize money purses and quality prizes.
Who is The IGTGolf Tour for?
- All golfers, regardless of skill level with a maximum handicap of 18 for men and 24 for women.
- The Tour has four separate divisions. Its Gross Division is for professional and the very best non amateur and amateur golfers who play in low gross competitions. Its Open Division is for non-amateur and amateur golfers of all skill levels who play in handicapped net competitions. Its Indexed division is for non-amateur and amateur golfers with a handicap between 12 and 18 (Men) and 12 and 24 (Ladies) who play in handicapped net competitions. The Senior Division is open to golfers age 50+.
- Members can play in one or all divisions if they qualified.
Is IGTGolf Divisions a Tournament on its own?
- Yes. Each division is played on its own.
When can I join the Tour?
- You can join anytime of the year.
- The membership year is a twelve-month period beginning on the month in which a member plays his/her first tournament and ending on the last day of the twelfth month thereafter.
Can I Play as an Amateur?
· Yes! All amateurs receive Gift Vouchers.
Do I have a choice about my Status?
- It is clear on a reading of the R&A’s Rules of Amateur Status that conduct of a player that is not in line with these rules in terms of ‘playing for prize money’ or the acceptance of financial incentive, prizes or sponsorships beyond the limits set, does not constitute a breach of the rules. Such conduct simply establishes a choice by the player to participate otherwise than as an Amateur or as a Professional.

How many Tournaments will you host?
- IGTGolf will host tournaments all year round. (Weather permitted in certain countries)
- If there are 500 registered members per region we will host between 8 & 12 tournaments per month. (region is between 10 & 30 golf clubs)
- If there are 1000 registered members per region we will host between 16 & 24 tournaments per month.
Do I have a Tour Playing Status on the Tour?
- Yes.
- First Time Player – Status for first three tournaments; - FTP
- Qualifying Member - Status change after 3 Tournaments to; - QM
- Tour Member - Status change after 10 Tournaments to; - TM
Why Do I have a Tour Playing Status on the Tour?
A FTP status player’s handicap is adjusted differently from that of a QM Status and TM status players.
How many Tournaments can I play?
- You can play as often as you’d like or play in 1 or play in all.
- To play in Championship or major sponsor events your tour playing status must be TM (Tour Member).
Can I play in any Region or Country?
- You can enter any tournament in any other Region or Country once your tour playing status is that of QM (qualifying member).
What about my Handicap?
- The IGTGolf Tour handicap system will only use scores attained at The IGTGolf Tour Tournaments to calculate a player's handicap for The IGTGolf Tour Tournaments. Members will play off their club handicap in Club competitions and The IGTGolf Tour handicap in The IGTGolf Tour Tournaments.
Do you adjust handicaps during a tournament?
- Yes. Handicaps get adjusted after nine holes and 18 holes depending on your tour playing status.
What rules does The IGTGolf Tour use?
- The IGTGolf Tour tournaments are operated under the R&A Rules of Golf and local rules of the host facility. All participants must also abide by The IGTGolf Tour Policies and Procedures.
- No gimmes, mulligans, or "winter rules." We do our best to protect the field and the integrity of the game. We also have a Rules Committee which we use as a resource for establishing local rules.
Under which format are tournaments played?
- The IGTGolf Tour tournaments are individual handicap one day events for the open division.
- We also host two day 36-hole, three day 54-hole and 72-hole Major Money Tournaments and other formats are utilized from time to time.
- We will also host gross events (Gross division) indexed division (handicaps 12 to 18) and senior events on a monthly basis.
How do I register for an event?
- You can enter online
- or you can contact your local tournament director
How much does it cost?
- South Africa - Entry fees generally range from R250 to R500 for one day events.
- Other Countries - Entry fees generally range from 150 to 400 (Country currency) for one day events.
- Entry fees include green fees, prize pool and administration fees.
How do I pay for events?
- You can pay by credit card.
- You can pay by electronic transfer.
- You can pay by direct deposit
- You can pay by cash on the day of the event.
When are prize money winnings distributed?
- Prize Money gets paid by Cash on Tournament day.
- Prize winnings will be transferred directly into your bank account within 48 hours after completion of the tournament.
- Vouchers get paid within 48 hours.
What is the Order of Merit About?
- A % of your Membership fee (% vary from country to country) gets allocated to the order of merit fund (per region per country).
- You get awarded points on your position per tournament.
- The top ten on the order of merit get paid out at year end.
Can four friends play in the same four-ball?
- No, only two friends can play together. The tournament committee will make the draw.
I have a bad first nine, can I Stop?
- No. We have what we call a best nine. This is the best nine score for the day for players who do not finish in the prize money.
What about cheating?
- We take cheating very serious.
- We capture scores after 9 holes. The leaders do get followed on the course. We also take random scoring on the course.
- Handicaps get adjusted during a tournament, according to your Tour Playing Status.
- We have set rules on markers, how you can drop the ball, etc.
- We have a starter on the starting tee box explaining the rules.
What about fair play?
- The IGTGolf Tour Golf Tour Computerized Scoring System that makes our tour "sandbagger resistant" is based on the USGA's probability report regarding the typical golfer's ability to score below their recorded handicap.
- Did you know the USGA's probability report states that a golfer will not typically score his handicap more than once out of every five rounds of golf? Your handicap is based on your potential, not your average score.
What about code of conduct?
- The behavior of Members in The IGTGolf Tour Tournaments shall be held to the highest standard. Any conduct which shows disrespect to the Tournament Committee/Director, any of the other players, any of the host club members/staff or traditional etiquette of golf shall constitute grounds for disqualification from an event and/or disciplinary action by the IGTGolf Tour Board of Directors. Members will conduct themselves professionally at all times. Abusive language, swearing, club throwing, alcohol abuse, sandbagging, or illegal drug use will not be tolerated. Exemplary player conduct is to be exercised and proper regard should be shown to all property of the host club. Cheating of ANY KIND will not be tolerated!
